Delete your Lemba account and data

You can delete your Lemba account and your data at any time, for free. Nobody needs to approve it.

In the app

1. Open Lemba and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete account, then confirm.
3. If you signed in with Apple, confirm with your Apple ID once more. This lets Lemba withdraw your Apple ID's sign-in to Lemba. If you cancel, nothing is deleted.

Your account is deleted straight away, on your phone and on Lemba's servers, and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.

Without the app

If you can't use the Lemba app, you can ask us to delete your account by email: write to privacy@lemba.one with the subject "Delete my Lemba account". If you can, send it from the email address your Lemba account uses, so we can check the account is yours. You can also install Lemba again, sign in, and delete your account in Settings.

To protect you, we confirm the request with the email address on your account before deleting anything. We delete the account within 7 days of that confirmation and tell you when it is done.

What is deleted

• your account, email address, name and sign-in details;
• your academic setup, courses, timetable, class changes, assignments, tests, exams and scores;
• your attendance, grades, results, GPA figures and grading rules;
• your plans, reminders, study sessions and planning preferences;
• your Lemba conversation (on your phone), photos and documents you sent, and AI request records;
• your class memberships, and your votes and statements in class decisions;
• announcements you posted to a class (taken down for everyone);
• your usage events, error reports and wrong-answer reports;
• your Lemba Pro access, and your record of the agreements you accepted.

What is kept, and why

• What you shared with your class: the courses, class times, semester dates and shared work you contributed stay for your classmates, without your name. The class's history keeps what happened (for example "a member left"), without your name. Reports you made about announcements stay for the moderators, without your name.
• A grading system you shared stays as a reference for other students, without your name.
• Payment records. If you bought Lemba Pro, the record of each payment (amount, date, status and references) is kept without your name or account for six years from the end of the year of the payment, because Ghana's tax law requires business records to be kept for at least six years. It is then deleted. A checkout where no money moved is deleted 30 days after your account.
• Backups. Our hosting provider's backups may hold deleted data for a short time (currently up to 7 days) before it is gone from them too.
• Our providers. Requests already sent to Lemba's AI provider, Anthropic, are normally deleted by Anthropic within 30 days. Kora keeps its own records of payments you made on its page, under its own privacy notice.

Sign in with Apple and Google

If you signed in with Apple and confirmed with your Apple ID, Lemba asks Apple to stop your Apple ID's sign-in to Lemba. If Apple could not be asked, the app tells you. You can also do this yourself on your iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Sign in with Apple (under Sign-In & Security on newer iOS), and choose Lemba (Apple's instructions).

If you signed in with Google, Lemba does not keep any access to your Google account. Lemba still appears in your Google account's list of connected apps until you remove it there (Google's instructions).

Deleting less than everything

You don't have to delete your account to remove things:

• clear your Lemba conversation in Settings;
• delete any course, class time, piece of work, plan or reminder where it appears;
• leave your class from the class page;
• turn off usage and error reports in Settings, under Privacy;
• withdraw your agreement to Lemba's AI provider in Settings, under Privacy.
